Use and applications: It has benefitsfor the prophylaxis of dermatophytosis ans as a topical antifungal agent for pityriasis versicolor. It also has uses in tap water dechlorination, including reducing chlorine levels for use inaquariums, seimming pools, spas and within water treatment plants to treat settled backwash prior to release to wastewater, rivers. It has also been used as an antioxidant and acidity regulator.
